"Will there be a replay?" (and other questions you've asked)

Hey ,

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about Tuesday’s Deep POV Workshop, so I thought I’d answer the most common ones all in one place.

“Will there be a replay if I can’t make it live?”

Yes! Everyone who registers gets access to the replay, which will be available within 48-72 hours after the workshop ends. You’ll have unlimited access to it for as long as we maintain the product in our business.

That said, if you can make it live, I do recommend it. The energy is different, you can ask questions in real time, and there’s something powerful about learning alongside other writers in the moment.

If you can't make it live and want to ask questions, be sure to fill out the pre-workshop survey!

“What exactly will we cover in the workshop?”

I’ll answer the three key questions: What is deep point of view? Why do you want it? And how do you get it?

We’ll cover specific ways to achieve deep POV, including how to know your characters beyond surface level, how to offer the experience directly to the reader, and how to lean into your character’s voice (not your author voice).

Plus, I’ll be doing live critique of real scenes, so you’ll see exactly how I identify what’s working and what could be stronger.

“I already own the original Deep POV workshop. Is this different?”

Yes, it will be different. While 80% of the information is the same, I’ve added new information, insights, and techniques. I’ve also added a live critique aspect.

If you already own the workshop, you just need to fill out the survey via the emails I've been sending to workshop owners, to automatically register for the live session at no extra charge.

“What if I write [insert genre here]? Will this apply to my work?”

Deep POV works across all fiction genres. Whether you write romance, mystery, fantasy, literary fiction, or anything else, the techniques for creating that emotional connection between reader and character are the same.

The examples I use might come from different genres, but the principles apply universally.

How and when you use them is going to vary book to book, no matter what genre you're writing.

“I’m a beginner. Will I be able to follow along?”

Absolutely. I’ll explain everything from the ground up, and you don’t need any prior knowledge of deep POV techniques.

That said, this isn’t entry-level content—it’s an advanced skill that will challenge you to think differently about your writing. But I’ll walk you through it step by step.

“What do I need technically to attend?”

Just a computer, tablet, or phone with internet access. The workshop will be on Zoom, and I’ll send you the link when you register.

You might want to have a notebook handy for taking notes, and if you want to follow along with the live critique examples, having your own manuscript nearby could be helpful.

“Can I ask questions during the workshop?”

Yes! There will be time for Q&A, and I love answering questions about specific situations you’re dealing with in your own writing.

“What if I decide it’s not for me?”

I’m confident you’ll find value in the workshop, but if for some reason you’re not satisfied, just email me within 7 days and I’ll refund your registration fee. Please note: there is no refund on the add-on service.

“How do I get you to critique my work?”

There are two ways:

*For live critique during the workshop:* If you’re a Just Keep Writing member and register for the workshop, you can submit a scene for potential selection for live critique. I’ll choose a few scenes to review during the workshop itself.

*For personalized 1:1 feedback:* I’m offering a limited number of individual manuscript critiques as an add-on to the workshop. For $150 (normally $400), you can submit up to 2500 words and get a 30 minute meeting to discuss specific feedback plus a PDF recap. This add-on is only available to workshop participants and must be used within 45 days after the workshop.

Only 10 spots available.

“When does the price go up?”

Early bird pricing $30 ends Tuesday at 2pm EST. After that, it’s $50.

The Deep POV Workshop is Tuesday, July 8th at 2pm EST.

You’ve got this. We’ve got this.

Hey , I changed my mind. This isn’t a sleazy marketing tactic, I really just changed my mind (and you’ll see this change reflected in future workshops). I said I was changing the price of the workshop on workshop day, but I decided to give people who missed buying it a second chance. I know how powerful social proof can be, and I wanted you to hear from some of the people who attended the live workshop, and see just how good it was. My favorite part? Still the live critiques.
