Something is coming but first...

Hey Reader,

I need beta testers!

But first, I have 2 last slots left for editing this year. You can either get a full edit (which is 2 round, including line edits) or an assessment of either a full or partial manuscript, or a query package. You can check out all my service-based offerings in this document, or email me (reply to this email if you want) if you have questions.

I also have a lot of info on my website about working with me on edits, including my editing philosophy!

So about those beta testers...

A few weeks ago, one of the members of The Acknowledgments asked me if I had any resources about hiring a Virtual Assistant/Personal Assistant. And I did. In particular, I had 4 videos I recorded a few years back about working with a VA, plus a bunch of things I'd put together when I was hiring my assistant, Dan, almost 5 years ago!

But I looked at those and thought...how can I make these more useful to her and others? Because when someone in The Acknowledgments asks for help, part of being a member there is me trying to figure out how to make that happen!

And that's how my new, upcoming guide to hiring (and keeping) a VA was born. I'm going to sell it for a pretty nominal price to start because I just want people to use it, so it will be just $10! But before I put it out into the world, I need a few more people to look at it and give very brief feedback (basically answer like 3 questions). In exchange, you get the product for free.

Some of the members of The Acknowledgments have already had a look (including the client who asked me for resources, of course) and they've all had incredibly positive things to say about it.

Now it's your turn to have an early, free peek. I'm specifically looking for people who are thinking about hiring a VA in the next year to help with their business (author business or even other kinds of businesses). You also need to have access to a Google account and Google Drive, as that's where the product and templates live.

If you'd like to be a beta tester, just fill out this form. All qualified applicants will immediately receive an email with a link to the products and the questions I'd like you to answer

The form will close once all 7 spots are filled or on Monday at noon, whichever happens sooner.

Thank you and look for this product to be available in early November :)

In the meantime, don't forget to book your edits! Happy writing!

Hey Reader, Longtime readers might remember when I used to do the 3@3. New readers, welcome to the explanation: a few years back, I used to go live once a week at 3pm and answer 3 questions that had been pre-submitted. It was all live, no editing, just raw talk. Turns out, I've got a pile of those clips sitting around, and honestly, most of the advice hasn't aged a day. Would I add some information or say it a bit different? Maybe. But these are still so solid, I decided to resurrect them and...

Hey Reader, In the (free) Just Keep Writing community, this week I asked: What’s something you’re trying to figure out about writing, editing, or publishing right now? Tell me what’s been on your mind, whether it’s a big question or one little thing you keep getting stuck on!You're invited to join me in the Discord (again, it's free) and let me know what your answer is! I'm responding to everyone with suggestions, ideas and sometimes empathy or encouragement, as needed! See you in the...
